The Sword of Retribution served for nearly ten years along the Romulan-Klingon border, attacking Klingon ships and outpost at a surprising rate. In 2335, after over a dozen confirmed kills, the Sword war refit with increased weapons and additional sensors. She immediately returned to the border and continued her aggressive operations.
However, the 2351, it was clear the her last three commanding officers we set on a campaign of pure revenge rather than expansion of the Empire. Tal Shiar operatives finally ended the dangerous situation in 2353, realizing that the Sword had relied on luck rather than the skill of it’s commanders.
With much of it’s crew reassigned or forced to retire, the Sword was transferred to the Gorn border. The Sword spent much of it’s time fending off pirate attack along the Outback. Following the destruction of Romulus, the Sword was instrumental in fending off the dissident Gorn factions that attempted to take advantage of the turmoil.
In 2389, the Sword was retired and sold for scrap.
