NOTES:
The Keltrek’s Revenge has had one of the most diverse operational histories of any Imperial Klingon State vessel. Commissioned in 2250 as the “Attack of the Omitter“, the vessel saw only one frontline combat acting in nearly 6 years, leading to frustration and condemnation among both the naval and marine personnel onboard. By mid-2256, nearly every officer was petitioning to transfer off the ship, with Captain Keltrek forced to kill several senior officers who challenged him for command. Despite their best efforts, little changed aboard the Omitter until early March of 2257. It was at this time that the political officer was secretly contacted by elements of the IKS. Unbeknownst to the officers and men of the Omitter, it was the Political Officer who was the cause of the censure of the vessel after a disagreement with officials years prior. Nearly unanimously, the officers, crew and marine troops defected to the IKS in Mid-March of 2257.

With no real damage or wear-and-tear to speak of, the Omitter was rechristened Keltrek’s Revenge and immediately detailed to resource allocation. Within weeks of it’s new assignment, Keltrek’s Revenge had engaged multiple vessels in the Triangle, thrilling officers and crew alike. Captain Keltrek quickly gained a reputation as an effective unit commander and was soon leading a group of gunboats in continued raids throughout the region. Keltrek and his crew also began cultivating a number of relationships with locals, trading favors for information.

Keltrek’s luck ran out in 2262 after he single-handedly attacked three independent freighters near Baker’s Dozen. Unbeknownst to Keltrek at the time, the independents had contracted several Orion pirates as security, and Keltrek found himself facing not one but two Orion blocked runners. While Keltrek was able to capture one of the freighters and one of the blockade runners, the Revenge was seriously damaged in the encounter. By the time Keltrek rendezvoused with his gunboats and was towed back to IKS controlled space, it was clear the the Revenge would need significant repair. Keltrek was informed that the Revenge required too many resources to repair and would be placed in the reserve fleet – a fate of nearly 60% of all IKS vessels. Rather than accept a ground post, Keltrek and his officers pooled their resources and purchased sufficient equipment to keep the Revenge operations. Keltrek purchased three new Orion designed disruptors as well as a full replacement for the primary torpedo system. Unfortunately, a replacement shield system proved more difficult. It was nearly 13 months before Keltrek’s third officer was able to secure a Ferengi shield system. While the system seems significantly better than the damaged units, system combability soon became a significant issue, with multiple generators failing at inopportune times. None the less, Keltrek was once raiding the spacelanes by 2264 and would continue operating throughout the region until 2273, when he died of medical complications from a battle wound.

The ship was again drydocked and was not relaunched until 2275, when new a Naussican impulse engine and beam weapons were installed. A new Naussican shield system was also installed to replace the defective Ferengi system. The Keltrek’s Revenge was considered underpowered by this time, and IKS leaders expressed concern that the ship was not powerful enough to continue it’s resource acquisition mission. The Revenge’s new commander proved up to the task, however, passing up glory for successful raiding. In 2293, the ships second captain, the original first office, died during a raid on an Edoan transport on the fringes of IKS space. Coinciding with a massive influx of new talent and officers disenfranchised with the peace process after the destruction of the Klingon moon of Praxis, the Keltrek’s Revenge was newly staffed and ready to continue it’s main mission.

In 2294, the Keltrek’s Revenge was drydocked again and equipped with newly produced Klingon native equipment. An updated ZD-6 was installed as were two newly acquired Klingon KD-16’s. The shield system captured two years earlier was also installed and a new Naussican torpedo system was installed. The Keltrek’s Revenge continued to serve as a patrol vessel will into the 2300, eventually being destroyed in 2313 in a battle with a Federation patrol.
