During their service to the Romulan Star Empire, these vessels were used exclusively against the Klingons. They were also used often near the Triangle in an attempt to discredit the Klingons after the Federation/Klingon alliance. Although not a popular vessel, 2 Type 3 are still in service to the Romulan Free State. 1 Type 3 was destroyed and 2 were scrapped.
