design by Morgan Donivan
NOTES:
Known Sphere Of Operation: Hegemony-wide use
Data Reliability: D for all models
Major Data Source: Gorn Sector Intelligence
The BH-4A is considered superior to other Gorn medium battleships primarily due to it’s increased firepower when compared to other front-line ships. The decision to use the longer range GBL-8 was a controversial one at the time, but created a significant improvement for the platform. The BH-4 also supported a larger troop contingent when compared to other ships it’s size.
The BH-4 is somewhat standard in it’s power curve and defensive capabilities. The vessel is well armored and incorporates a wide array of Gorn military sensors and support equipment, but does not support significant recreation or personnel sub-systems. Most BH-4s are deployed with a skeleton troop compliment to reduce over-taxing the ships systems. Because of this, most BH-4s are used in or near military bases and combat outposts. When needed, the BH-4 can embark its full military compliment is less than two hours and deploy to it’s objective quickly.
Current intelligence reports indicate that 10 BH-4C are still in active service within the Hegemony’s borders. 2 Bs and 10 Cs are reported in reserve fleets. 1 A and 2 Bs have been destroyed. 1 A and 1 C have been scrapped. Although unconfirmed, long range scans indicate that a D model may be under construction.
