Tezra Class IV Light Freighter

from Star Trek Enterprise

NOTES:
The last Tezra class to be fielded, the Mk V, Mk VI and Mk VII were all fielded at the same time, with the Tellarite Mining Consortium ending production during the Four-Years War with only 330 built and fielded. The Mk V was lightly armed and intended to be used along various borders and near unsecure territory. The Mk VI was more heavily armed, and intended to be used along known hostile borders. The Type VII was intended to be an unarmed publicly sold version for both the Consortium and the general public within the Federation.

All three versions proved effective but were soon overshadowed by other front-line freighter and would see significant losses during the Four-Years War. During the conflict, these vessels were vital for maintaining shipping between shipyards and production facilities. While armed, the Tezra class was not a warship and was sluggish when fully loaded.

By the end of the war, over 30 of these freighters had been destroyed. With the introduction of other vessels, and the inability to upgrade older Tezra class freighters, some of which were over 100 years old, the decision was mad to begin selling off the remaining vessels to private concerns. By 2321, all known Tezra vessels under the Consortium flag had been sold to civilian concerns.

Of the 330 Mk V, VI and VIIs fielded, 17 Mk Vs, 10 Mk VIs and 6 Mk VIIs have been destroyed. 3 Mk Vs and 2 Mk VIs have been captured. 5 Mk Vs, 4 Mk VIs and 1 Mk VII are listed as missing. 8 Mk Vs, 9 Mk VIs and 2 Mk VIIs have been scrapped. 111 Mk Vs, 115 MK VIs and 36 Mk VIIs have been sold to a wide range of clients, including a number of non-Federation individuals.
