NOTES:
Known Sphere Of Operation: Romulan-Klingon border; Triangle; Cardassian border
Data Reliability: C
Major Data Source: Romulan Sector Intelligence
One of the larger Klingon vessels captured during the lengthy conflict between the Romulans and the Klingons, the Bow of Retaliation was use almost exclusively along the southernmost joint border intercepting freighters and other transports, reducing the effectiveness of Klingon resupply efforts in the area.
In early 2359, Klingon hunter-killer squadrons are believed to have made a concerted effort to hunt down the Retaliation, and the vessel was significantly damaged several months later.
Returned to active duty at the end of 2359, the Retaliation began raiding in the Triangle where her large troop compliment allowed the vessel to easily overwhelm the crews of freighters and transports friendly to the Klingon Empire. The Retaliation also engaged several Federation patrols in the Triangle but was forced to withdraw for fear of discovery.
In 2367, the Retaliation returned to patrolling the Klingon border. By 2373, the Retaliation was assigned to one of the assault fleets scheduled to attack Dominion and Cardassian forces.
The Retaliation served well during the war where her heavy firepower and surprising maneuverability allowed it to outclass its Cardassian and Dominion opponents. However, the powerful drive system and aging warp coils did take their toll, forcing the Retaliation to put in for non-combat repairs on several occasions.
The Retaliation was eventually re-flagged under the Romulan Free States and served as a large patrol and transport vessel until it’s eventual retirement in 2393. The ship is scheduled to be sold for scrap in the near future.
