The Warblade of Retribution was originally refit with the intention of operating as an infiltration vessel. However, following the unsuccessful attempt to destabilize relations between the Klingon Empire and the Federation in 2346, the decision to field the Retribution for standard combat patrols was made.
The Retribution would continue it’s standard operating procedures until it’s recall in 2374 in anticipation of the Dominion War. The Retribution’s war record during the conflict was considered excellent and the ship continued serving until the destruction of Romulus. The Retribution was eventually damaged while engaging pirates taking advantage of the turmoil following the Romulan supernova.
