Supposedly built for a bored daughter of a Merchant Prince with Daddy’s credits, by a man who just wanted to keep his spoiled brat out of the family business! The hull is gaudy, and luxury fittings have been installed in all cabins.

For years, this vessel was subject to numerous rumors all over the Triangle. In the less regulated systems of the region, all seemed above board. The interior was lavishly outfitted for the comforts of the owner and her friends. It came across as a luxury yacht. Ground cars were stored in the hold! Even the outside was gaudy and tasteless looking, appearing a metallic green with a blue haze with gold highlights, depending on what angle it is viewed from. She was essentially touring the main Triangle capitals ‘having a good time’.

But people swore that it seemed that sometimes, raids on cargo vessels spiked when this vessel was in the vicinity! Was all what it seemed? Who knew, but with her Orion heritage, tongues were wagging!

Then, in early 2/24, it transpired the rumors were confirmed. Under cover of a pleasure craft, the Princess was being run as a pirate vessel. It was eventually discovered that the Princess was using low powered ‘refractive hull plating’ technology – an Orion cosmetic modification technique called ‘shimmer-hull’. Based on antiquated energized hull plating tech, this technique was used during raids it, disguising the ships’ gaudy appearance with a variety of neutral dark colours. After each sortie, leaving the raided vessel crippled, the device would be turned off well out of range of the victim, reverting back to the ‘innocent’ luxury yacht.

This would possibly explain hull emblems shown on some pirate ships. Such small scale technology was often used to continually changing emblem designs to confuse enemy nations and freighters alike. Therefore, the strange custom of seeing various blood red skills or other emblems on a raiding vessel, nominally an identifying feature, now makes some sense.

The Princess has not been seen in civilian port since the revelation, (or has it?) but is still believed to be raiding vessels throughout the Triangle.

The vessel has been described as a wolf in sheep’s clothing, considering the armament fitted to such an innocuous hull. It is interesting to note that the armament matches the maximum weapons capacity of the fitted Orion control computer.

Although unconfirmed, but due to these numerous raids associated with this ship, it is believed that Starfleet Intelligence may have a file for this vessel and her crew.
