The K-119, simply referred to as the 119 inside the Klingon Empire, was a common sight in and around Klingon spaceports and military facilities for over 60 years. With over 300 produced over the years, this class was often the go-to vessel of choice for warp-capable interdiction duty. It was often the first vessel a trader would encounter as they entered a Klingon-controlled star system.

The 119 was essentially a warp-updated version of the ill-fated K-30, which itself proved to be an effective interdiction vessel despite its rocky start. The K-119 significantly extended the interdiction range, allowing new or unregistered freighters and transports to be stopped well outside the range of Klingon occupied planets or bases. An emergency speed of Warp 8 made this vessel quite capable of chasing down individuals who were attempting to enter a system illegally or hide from Imperial inspection. A squad of Marines could quickly board a target and conduct cargo inspection or capture less dubious vessels when needed.

The 119 was not designed for extended deep-space operations, and most frequently could be found less than 1 light-year from their assigned post. It’s small cargo hold could store contraband when needed, but was primarily used to food stuffs and repair components.

The A model was the only production variant with 300 built between 2255 and 2269. The A model remained in active service until 2290 when the last hull was converted to the B model. Upgrade to the B model began in early 2287 and continued through 2310. The B model remained in active service until 2323 when the last hull was retired from active service.

Of the 300 K-119s built, 44 Bs are in reserve fleets. 16 As and 7 Bs have been destroyed. 2 As have been captured by Orion forces. 1 A and 1 B are listed as missing. 21 As and 13 Bs have been scrapped. 50 As and 10 Bs were traded to a wide range of trading partners. 15 Bs were sold to private interest in the Triangle. 20 As and 100 Bs are officially listed in service to Ranking Imperial families.
