The Legendary Vengeance was one of a number of prolific infiltration vessels with a lengthy record of intelligence gathering and covert missions behind enemy lines.
Despite a lack of a cloaking device, the Vengeance continued her deep penetration of Klingon space until finally being damaged in 2284. Returning to Romulan space, she was upgraded with new weapons, and enlarged impulse drive and more efficient shields.
The ship would again be upgraded in 2342 when improved torpedoes and more powerful shields were again installed.
The vessel served for over 80 years before being destroyed during the increased hostilities of the late 2340.
