BATTLE OF ETA 131
STARDATE: 3203.2, EDGE OF ETA 131 SYTEM, 1135 HRS FST

SURPRISE
Ka’Ga grabbed the wounded gunner and gently lowered him on the floor. He hit the button to fire the disruptors and watched on the secondary screen as the lances of energy slammed into the Federation scout. The ship was soon off the screen as it tumbled away from his ship. “Mrulk – Z plus 200 kellicams! Fire as we come to bear!”

The helmsman jumped to the order as the Swift Inciter moved to a better angle. Ka’Ga could not see the enemy vessels but could envision the battle in his mind. Seconds later the light dimmed as more lethal energy lanced across space. The Inciter shook again and yet another console burst with overloaded circuits and damaged relays. The air suddenly rushed as it was momentarily sucked through a hole somewhere before the emergency screens sealed the rupture. At any minute the system could fail and they would all suffocate.

Ka’Ga had never liked his farther constant use of the old adage – “a good day to die.” But perhaps today was as good a day as any.

The light dimmed again as the battle continued.
