As unpopular with the Orion Navy as it was with the Klingon Navy, the Jade Sky class saw significant modifications before even being fielded. Orion computers systems were immediately installed, as was additional weapon mounts too offset the destroyers unusual design and less than effective combat potential.
However, the Orion variant did prove an effective light destroyer with the addition of the forward firepower. As with many vessels purchased from the Klingons, these ship forced Star Fleet to detail a number of vessels to patrol the Orion Neutrality border to reduce the number of Klingon incursions through Orion space.
Following the destruction of Praxis, these ships began to operate outside the Colonies, often escorting prominent cargo’s too and from the ORMA and other Triangle port of call. By 2345, despite several refits over the years, the remaining vessels, were decommissioned and scrapped as the Orion Syndicate too greater control.
Of the six Jade Sky vessels fielded, 1 A-1 was scrapped after combat, 1 A-2 and 1 A-3 have been destroyed and the remining A-3s were decommissioned and scrapped.
