\nTO DIE LIKE A WARRIOR:<\/strong><\/font>
\nIKV K’tuskas<\/strong>
\nCaptain Kekja smiled as he watched his men die around him. \u2018Noble warriors all\u2019 he thought as they tried in vain to keep the weapons powered and the ship fighting. He himself blead from a gash in his leg left by a piece of the navigation console that had exploded. \u201cTake power from deck 8 and transfer it to the forward disruptors!\u201d he barked and the destroyer closed with their target. Already they had scored several minor hits on the powerful defense station, but the ship had paid a hefty toll for just those few scratches.<\/p>\n

\u201cWait\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Kekja held his final maneuver even as the ship shuddered from another hit. The port warp engine had been destroyer. Precious power leaked into space. There would be no escape now.<\/p>\n

\u201cWait\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHull breach on Deck 2 and 3\u2026heavy casualties\u201d reported the communication officer, one of the few without a wound of some kind.<\/p>\n

\u201cWait\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Phaser lanced out at the destroyer. More warriors were dead. Yet still he the captain held. \u201cWait\u2026\u201d he ordered. \u2018Just a few more seconds\u2026\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cNOW!\u201d The ship shuddered and groaned as it spun around 180 degrees. The internal dampeners were already strained and the crew was buffeted as the ship pivoted. \u201cFIRE!\u201d Kekja ordered. At near point blank range the destroyer fired its last gasp. The torpedo rocketed across the void as a single beam of energy struck the space stations shields. It was just enough. The communication antenna crumpled under the combined damage.<\/p>\n

\u201cSignal the fleet \u2013 QUICKLY!\u201d But the message was already on it\u2019s way. Kekja\u2019s crew new their jobs; knew the importance of this mission. Kekja nodded even as he watched the stations defenses reach towards his ship. \u201cNoble warriors\u201d he thought as the last of his men died.<\/td>\n

GAME SET-UP<\/h3>\n

Lay out one<\/em> Star Trek Combat Simulator map-sheet in the configuration shown. This represents the area of space where the conflict takes place. Use the Graduate Starship Tactics Course rules in this scenario.<\/p>\n

Defender<\/strong>
\nThe Defending force consists of:<\/p>\n

1 R-1<\/em> Type 1 Invictus Defense Outpost <\/a>(Defense Outpost 89)<\/em><\/p>\n

Deployment<\/strong>
\nThe Defending force deploys in the center of the map.<\/p>\n

Attacker<\/strong>
\nThe Attacking force consists of:<\/p>\n

1 D-18C<\/em> Class VI Destroyer <\/a>(IKV K’tukas)<\/em><\/p>\n

Deployment<\/strong>
\nThe attacking force enter from the left edge if the map. The attacking for may enter cloaked.<\/p>\n

Victory Conditions:<\/strong>
\nThe attacking force wins a major victory if they can cause 10 points of superstructure damage to the R-1 station or can score a successful Sensor or Bridge hit. The attacking force wins a minor victory if they cause 5 or less poinst of damage to the R-1. The attacking force may use any tactic to inflict the necessary damage including self destruct or ramming. The Defending force wins a major victory by disabling or destroying the attacking force before they meet their victory conditions.<\/p>\n

Escape:<\/strong>
\nIf the attacking force can meet its objectives, they may attempt to warp out of the combat area. Campaign warp escape rules apply.<\/p>\n

\nThe scenario ends on turn 12 due to massive Federation re-enforcements.\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
