The Powerful Vindicator<\/em> was initially used as a tactical attack vessel, striking a number of specific targets along the Romulan-Klingon border. She was recalled in 2333 and had her shields upgraded. Following her relaunch, she was assigned to patrol along the southern Neutral Zone attacking targets of opportunity just outside the official border.<\/p>\n

In 2339, the Vindicator<\/em> engaged an Andorian freighter, unaware the vessel was actually an Orion false-flagged vessel. The Orions, apparently believing they were engaging a Klingon or IKS vessel, attacked with several of their raiders. The battle proved disastrous for the Orions but severely damaged the Vindicator<\/em>. Returning to Romulan space, the Vindicator<\/em> was originally scheduled to be scrapped. However, increasing tension between the Klingon and Romulan Empires necessitated the refit and redeployment.<\/p>\n

The Vindicator<\/em> was involved in nearly a dozen skirmishes before finally being damaged in 2359. She was sold to private interest in the Triangle in 2360.
