\nNOTES:<\/strong>
\nWhen problems developed with the Explorer<\/em> class, Starfleet looked to the old Vagabond<\/em> class for the inspiration to resolve the problems. The result was the Pegasus<\/em> class cruiser. Sporting a shorter, broader support strut to increase stability and front-saucer mounted photon tubes in the event of the loss of the nacelle assembly. The Pegasus<\/em> class was very successful and served as the basis for many of the elements found in the Constellation<\/em>, Odysseus<\/em>, and Questar<\/em> classes. <\/p>\n

The Pegasus<\/em> class would remain in service until well into the 2330s.
