\nThe appearance of the Vreesta<\/em>-class of raider virtually on the heels of the commissioning of the Klingon K-29 escort is believed to have been a significant source of concern when first discovered. Specific details about the Vreesta’s capability were difficult for Star Fleet to verify as the vessel was rarely encountered by Federation sympathetic individuals. Reports did indicate that the Orions apparently went to great length to modify the warp signature of the Vreesta<\/em>-class to mimic that of the K-27 and K-29 classes. Reports indicate that even Klingon Intelligence assets were required to get within visual range of these ships to confirm that they were indeed Orions and not Klingons. This is believed to have lead to several confrontations.<\/p>\n

Although exact numbers can not be confirmed, it is believed that 40 or more A-1 models were eventually fielded, along with between 10 and 20 A-2 models. The disposition of these ships is unknown, as is the construction location.
