\nCaptains Log – USS Darius<\/strong>
\n“At 2110 HRS the Hamilcar detected a single Klingon frigate on approach to Gabok IX. Captain Iavarone and myself agreed that a pincer move would be the most effective way to deal with the enemy ship. <\/p>\n

However, we have just detected two additional Klingon battlecruisers on approach as well. I’m confident that our combined firepower can drive the Klingons off – but only if we can close the distance quickly.”<\/p>\n

Captain Foxwell continued watching the status monitor. The Darius and Hamilcar closed with each other, but the Klignons turned towards the Hamilcar. If all three should attack simultaneous…<\/p>\n

“Engineerin! Can you give us more speed?” the captain called.<\/p>\n

“If I do – we’ll have nothing in reserve,” the chief engineer said. Captain Foxwell pondered his options. <\/p>\n

“We can hold out for at least one or two passes,” commented Iavarone looking at the same tactical information as Foxwell. “They’ll have to divert some of their power with you coming up behind them. Just keep closing the distance.” It wasn’t an actual order, but Foxwell knew Iavaron was an excellent tactician. It was a sound plan. “Steady on course,” commanded Foxwell. “You better be right about this,” he commented at the inset visual of the Hamilcar’s bridge.<\/p>\n

“When am I ever wrong,” joked Iavarone, a wry smile on his face.<\/p>\n

The Hamilcar’s bridge shook and the picture blanked out for a moment as the first disruptor blast hit the sturdy destroyer. Iavarone’s smile vanished in an instant. “Well, lets hope today isn’t the first time.” <\/p>\n

\nThe Defending force consists of:<\/p>\n

2 Saladin<\/em> Mk II<\/strong> Class VII Destroyers<\/a> (USS Darius, USS Hamilcar<\/em>)<\/p>\n

Deployment<\/strong>
\nThe Defending force deploys with one ship on right edge of the map and one ship on the left edge of the map.<\/p>\n

Attacker<\/strong>
\nThe Attacking force consists of:<\/p>\n

2 D-7<\/em>A<\/strong> Class VIII Cruiser<\/a> (IKV Evading Banisher, IKV Pursuer<\/em>)
\n1 L-6<\/em>B<\/strong> Class VIII Frigate<\/a> (IKV Invenom<\/em>)<\/p>\n

Deployment<\/strong>
\nThe attacking force enter from the top center of the map.<\/p>\n

Victory Conditions:<\/strong>
\nVictory is determined by the point value of any vessel destroyed during the battle. Any vessel that leave the map before turn 12 is worth 1\/2 it’s victory points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
