\nIKV Tyranny<\/strong>
\n“There’s a sub-light vessel and a scout! Why do we hesitate?!” Modrid had been bucking for the First Officer position ever since his line-brother, Captain Hora, had gotten him a position aboard the Tyranny – a decision Hora has soon come to regret. Modrid was hot-headed, foolish and sought glory any way he could get it. Any glory Modrid would gain would most likely end up being posthumously.<\/p>\n

Hora let his first officer deal with the young glory seeker. “Explain” he said with disdain.<\/p>\n

Modrid knew he was missing something. His bravado shrank just a bit. “The…the moon will hid our approach” he stammered. “The sub-light ship is no match for our speed and -”<\/p>\n

“In side a gravity well?!” the first officer pointed out. “Close to both the planet and the moon?” Modrid realized his error and looked down at his control panel. He continued to sneer at the first officer, but remained silent.<\/p>\n

“We were all that stupid once,” comment Hora quietly to the first officer. “Once,” he agreed.<\/p>\n

“My lord! Possible third sensor contact just coming around from the planets far side!” The science officer was seasoned and professional with no sense of concern.<\/p>\n

“Can you identify it?” asked the first officer. <\/p>\n

“Power signature indicated a cruiser of some kind. I can’t get a clear reading while we’re behind this moon.”<\/p>\n

“Do we proceed?” asked the first officer. There were no cowards aboard the Tyranny. “If its a battlecruiser, or there are more…” But there were very few fools as well.<\/p>\n

Hora though for a moment and decided to proceed with the attack. He looked straight at the first officer. “Once” he said – a warriors gleam in his eye. <\/p>\n

The first officer chuckled and grinned back. It would be an eventful morning. “Battle Speed! Signal the rest of the wing!” he growled.\n<\/td>\n

GAME SET-UP<\/h3>\n

Lay out two Star Trek Combat Simulator map-sheets in the configuration shown. Place a planet on the edge of the left map and a small moon on the edge of the right map. This represents the area of space where the conflict takes place. Use the Graduate Starship Tactics Course rules in this scenario.<\/p>\n
