\nOne for the Road<\/strong>
\nEven as the Klingon Empire negotiated a possible peace settlement, several commanders continued to engage Federation and allied forces. The last significant engagement of the war was the Battle of Alaris, which marked the end of the Empire’s military activity within Federation territory.<\/p>\n

The battle also proved to be one of the bloodiest, with both sides giving no ground during the conflict. The attacking Federation force proved victorious, but was badly damaged by the defending Klingons, many of whom were acutely aware that the war was ending. Fearing that they would not get a chance at honorable death in combat, the Klingons fought to the bitter end.\n<\/td>\n
