\nCaptain Wegtor sutai Kommora watched the gas giant fill the view screen. Timing was everything. Tactical!’ he growled in battle language. The screen shifted to show a top down view of the system. His wing continued on their course using the gas giant as cover. The estimated sensor shadow was shrinking rapidly. The rest of the attack wing was lined up behind the Vicious. “Open a channel”, he ordered.<\/p>\n

The other wing commanders appeared on the screen. I still think there are cruisers in this system!’ grumbled Klelsk of the Vanquisher. Then pray we can take out this listening post before they close with us. I’d rather die fighting them than die trying to bomb a few sensor pods!”<\/p>\n

“As would I”, said Klelsk. “SUCCESS!” he saluted.<\/p>\n

Wegtor returned the salute and closed the channel. The Vicious surged around the gas giant and began rapidly closing with the next planet in the system.’<\/p>\n

“COMMANDER! Two Federation destroyer are orbiting the fourth planet. They’re changing course!”<\/p>\n

But Wegtor knew he was committed. “Hmm, success indeed”, he mumbled thoughtfully as his ship surged toward a painful encounter. Wegtor smiled. It would be a noble death.\n<\/td>\n

GAME SET-UP<\/h3>\n

Lay out one<\/em> Star Trek Combat Simulator map-sheets in the configuration shown. This represents the area of space where the conflict takes place. All vessels start the game at sub-warp speed. Use the Graduate Starship Tactics Course rules in this scenario.<\/p>\n

Defender<\/strong>
\nThe Defending force consists of:<\/p>\n

\n1 Hellion<\/em> Mk II<\/strong> Class XI Heavy Destroyer<\/a> (USS Gordan)
\n1 Pense<\/em> Mk III<\/strong> Class IX Long Range Destroyer<\/a> (USS Kobun)\n<\/p>\n

Deployment<\/strong>
\nThe Defending force deploys along the left edge of the map. Re-enforcements arrive from the left side of the map.<\/p>\n

Attacker<\/strong>
\nThe Attacking force consists of:<\/p>\n

\n1 L-20<\/em> A<\/strong> Class X Fast Battleship<\/a> (Swift)
\n1 D-6<\/em> F<\/strong> Class VII Cruiser<\/a> (Judgmental Doombringer)
\n1 D-7<\/em> M<\/strong> Class IX Battlecruiser<\/a> (Attack of the Stalker)
\n2 D-8<\/em> G<\/strong> Class VIII Battlecruiser<\/a> (Atrocity of the Mortifier, Majesty’s Boldness)
\n1 D-10<\/em> H<\/strong> Class X Heavy Cruiser<\/a> (Bonesplitter)\n<\/p>\n

\nThe attacking force enter from the right edge if the map.<\/p>\n

Victory Conditions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The attacking force wins a major victory if they can destroy two or more of the defending cruisers. The attacking force wins a minor victory if they destroy one of the defending cruisers. The defending force wins a major victory if they destroy five of more enemy vessels and a minor victory if they destroye three or fewer enemy vessels.<\/p>\n

\nEither side may atempt to break off from combat after turn 9 by warping from the field of battle Campaign warp escape rules apply.<\/p>\n
